MUSIC
Gregory has been producing electronic music since 2014 when he was gifted a copy of Ableton by his father. Since then he has created both linear and interactive audio pieces.

Here are some samples of Greg's work on interactive music projects!

Dance Diffusion
Dance Diffusion is an experience developed for the MIT StageHack 2024 where two dancers control the audio playback in real time using their distance from the two Kinects in front of them. The Kinect data was sent over a local network through Touch Designer and SuperCollider into Ableton to control dials that were mapped to digital signal processing parameters like pitch and filters, or to trigger playback of different MIDI clips for the drum set.
In addition, a depth camera was placed in front of the dancers and this data was used to influence live AI-generated visuals with additional prompt input from a set of sliders controlled by another performer off stage.
OSCXR
Gregory is working on a performance tool for musicians to use their heads to control digital signal processing, leaving their hands free to play their instrument.

The passthrough cameras allows the musician to maintain contact with the audience.
Rave Gazebo
Rave Gazebo is a dance-interactive virtual reality album that uses your dancing to remix a song in real time. The main input is simply gesturing in one of six directions, which switches between pre-composed layers of music. Each gesture interacts with the environment, sending physics objects into the scene and generally creating chaos. Learn more in our special Rave Gazebo Page!
Loop Jam
Loop Jam won 2nd place in the Meta Quest Presence Platform Hackathon 2024 Utility & Design Experiences
category.

It is a multiplayer looper pedal that uses hand tracking and passthrough. It solves the problem of audio latency when collaborating musically by recording audio to a repeating loop and saving the location for later playback.

The Heist
The Heist (2019) was a live interactive theater experience headed by Jason Moore, where a single participant would be invited to a virtual world hosted in the High Fidelity metaverse platform.

Actors would respond and interact with this participant, and the story had to adapt to the participants actions. I composed a wide variety of audio clips to represent the different locations, including a diner, the bank, the chase sequence, final battle, and more loops to respond to the user's behaviour.

To playback audio during the performance I set up an interactive audio system in Wwise, then implemented some buttons in a Unity project I could click on to transition to the next section at the appropriate time.

This project ran for a couple months, with weekly performances.
Student Project Demo Reel
A video compilation of the projects Gregory worked on in interactive audio as a student at Berklee College of Music from 2016-2019.
Papers Please Sound Replacement
Papers Please is an excellent game set in a fictional Eastern European country during the Cold War. Gregory used his fluency in the Russian language to create a more worried crowd ambience and updated the sound design to drive home the deadly consequences of the players actions
Sleepy Jeoff
This music was composed for Sleepy Jeoff, a submission to the Global Game Jam 2019. The game is about redirecting a sleepwalking Jeoff by dragging furniture in his way

This music has also been reused for many XR Terra videos because it serves as a good background track.
In Good Spirits
At the very same Global Game Jam 2019 (there were not enough composers) Gregory also created the music for In Good Spirits.

The request was to create a track with different themes for each character that could be vertically mixed in based on which room the user was in.
Cyberpunk Noir
Cyberpunk Noir was a student project in collaboration with the FSU game dev program. The request was to create a looping track that sounded like a DJ was mixing it live.

Michael Davis and Gregory collaborated to combine several previously written tracks into a mix, and Gregory added the filter implementation when the player walks out of the main room.
Psychonauts Sound Replacement
The Psychonauts games have long been one of Gregory's favorites, so for a school assignment he took one of the most iconic levels (The Milkman) and replaced all of the music and sound effects.
Hot Pot
This was a student project made in 2017 by Wenley Chen at the Brown RISD program. Gregory did the sound effects.
Firewatch Score Addition
In the game Firewatch this scene does not have a score, so for a student project Gregory composed his own track to play under it. In theoretical implementation, the closer the player gets to the knock out cutscene, the more discordant the notes would become.
Dare2Drive
This was the project submitted for the 2019 Reality Virtually hackathon at MIT to simulate the dangers of driving while tired or inebriated.
Gregory wrote and implemented the music, including a system that would distort the audio in real time as the player lost focus, and did the voice acting for the trailer. He also set up the looping engine sound.
Parade of Masks
This game was made for the Anti Defamation League Game Jam 2018. The game itself was an allegory for the experience of being trans, with the theme of having to mask in order to survive.
Ink Platformer
This was a student project made in 2017 by Wenley Chen at the Brown RISD program. Gregory composed the music and did the sound effects
Duct Tape Medicine
This track was created for a student project by Ray Demers who wanted users to be able to choose a track based on their mood.

The mood for this track was "Weird".
Simulation Series
Interview
Gregory was given the opportunity to talk about his work on interactive music in virtual reality with the Simulation Series in 2019 while he was still at Berklee. He has been working ever since to bring his visions to reality.
Interactive Music Videos in VR (IMVVR)
While at Berklee College of Music, Gregory started a club to discuss the possibilities of interactive music videos in VR. While the meetings did not draw many people, a lot of important conversations and brainstorm sessions occurred that would have a great influence on later projects.
LINEAR MUSIC
In addition to interactive music, Gregory composes plenty of more traditional linear tracks as well.
Antibacterial Soda EP
Composed in 2020 using Ableton, these 4 tracks are high energy electronic music that have fun with odd meters and are reminiscent of 8-bit sound design.
The EP's name made fun of how all the vodka producers started selling hand sanitizer in their old bottles without clearly labelling them as undrinkable.
Tupperware Cone
This comedic song was a student project that required a horn section, lyrics, background vocals, bass, and drums.

The song is about how useless a tupperware cone would be, if such a thing existed
Oversaturation
These three tracks are linear remixes of the stems created for the interactive VR music video "Oversaturated".

The original music was made by recording Gregory beatboxing EDM drops, then going back and producing these vocal stems with drums and synthesizers
Used Foam Prices (Electronic)
This track was a student project made in Logic with the explicit desire to break free of the time grid using notes that were tapped in with a live recording to have a more organic feeling.
Cubular Egg
This track is a remix of the Game Cube Logo. Gregory downloaded the MIDI notes then doubled them up an octave so he could pass the true melody back and forth while having fun with pitch bend in the other.

The music video was run through Unity using audio reactivity to apply post processing effects like chromatic aberration and lens distortion.
Used Foam Prices (Orchestral)
This orchestral arrangement of Used Foam Prices was created as an experiment to see how the pitch bending that was so easy in MIDI could be translated to the sound of an orchestra
My GPS Lies
The first ever song Gregory wrote, which inspired him to continue on his path of music composition.

This comedic song fakes the listener out in the first two verses by describing an abusive relationship, then reveals the partner is actually a GPS
